The first thing I thought of when I saw the theme of the Weekly Photo Challenge was “Serenity Now!”…..just another one of the classic lines from the old ‘Seinfeld’ show.  Can you tell I’m a huge fan?  lol  Here’s the dialogue between George & his father, Frank:    F – “Serenity now!  Serenity now!”  G – “What is that?”  F – “The doctor gave me a relaxation cassette. When my blood pressure gets too high, the man on the tape tells me to say ‘serenity  now!'”  G – “Are you supposed to yell it?”  F – “The man on the tape wasn’t specific.”  LMBO  Kind of like The Honeymooners episode when Ralph was told by his doctor to say “Pins and needles, needles and pins, a happy man is a man that grins” when he found himself getting angry!  Another of my favorites by the way.  🙂

Anyway, here’s my photographic interpretation of  “Serenity.”

This is an old record (dated September 22, 1903 – Victor Talking Machine Co., Camden, NJ) of Enrico Caruso singing O Sole Mio….you can hear him singing it HERE.  The video is not of the record being played on my gramophone but it’s as close as I could get. I wish you could hear it played on the one I have, with all it’s crackling and scratches. It might not sound like it would be, but it’s amazing!  “His Master’s Voice” 🙂  EDIT: Serendipity??? I just discovered that today is Caruso’s birthday. Now that’s weird!

These icicles outside my bathroom window kind of remind me of the bars on a jail cell!  As much as I complain about the snow….I actually like it…. not the ice chopping and shoveling part though, but Don McLean seems to be having a hard time with winter.  Unfortunately, I did not even have to convert this one to black and white….that’s just the kind of day it was. 😦
