Hi Kayrpea, That’s a really good question! I don’t know if they grow so many especially for Halloween or fall. There are certain varieties that are better for soup or pies than others and people save and roast the seeds for eating later but I can’t answer your first question. Sorry! Do they do that in your part of the world?
Dear Madelaine, Halloween was hardly ever mentioned in my youth, or even when our children were growing up. It seems commercial interests have been pushing it more in the last 10-20 years, and we do receive a few door knockers looking for sweet treats now. We try to reward the best costumes, of course.
